Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about our mobile notary services. Can't find what you're looking for? Give us a call — we're happy to help.

What identification do I need for a notarization?

You must present a current, government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms include a California driver's license, California ID card, U.S. passport, military ID, or a foreign passport. The ID must be current (not expired) and must contain your photo, signature, and physical description. If you do not have acceptable ID, call us in advance — we may be able to use credible identifying witnesses in certain circumstances.

What is a mobile notary and how does it work?

A mobile notary is a commissioned Notary Public who travels to your location — your home, office, hospital, nursing facility, coffee shop, or any other agreed-upon location. Instead of you driving to a bank or shipping store during business hours, we come to you on your schedule. You present your identification and documents, sign in our presence, and we complete the notarization on the spot.

Do you handle loan signings?

Yes! We are a certified Loan Signing Agent with experience handling purchase loans, refinance loans, HELOCs, reverse mortgages, seller packages, buyer packages, and commercial loan documents. We work with title companies, escrow companies, lenders, and signing services throughout the Central Valley. Every loan document package is handled with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Can you notarize documents in a hospital or nursing home?

Absolutely. We specialize in hospital, nursing home, and assisted living facility notarizations. We travel to the bedside with compassion, patience, and professionalism — handling sensitive documents for patients, families, and medical facilities. We understand the privacy and protocol requirements these environments demand.

Do you provide notary services in jails and prisons?

Yes. We have several years of experience as a Notary Public inside a California State Prison and are experienced with county jail protocols, security clearances, and the unique needs of incarcerated individuals and their families. We handle inmate notarizations, legal filings, powers of attorney, and other sensitive documents with professionalism and strict confidentiality.

What is an apostille and can you help with the process?

An apostille is a certificate that authenticates a document for use in a foreign country that is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. We provide apostille facilitation services — helping you navigate the process for birth certificates, marriage licenses, diplomas, background checks, and other documents. We'll guide you through the steps and ensure your documents are properly prepared before submission.

How much does mobile notary service cost?

Pricing depends on several factors: the number of signatures, the type of document, travel distance, and the time of your appointment. California state notary fees apply where required by law. We provide a free, no-obligation quote before every appointment — no surprises, no hidden fees. Contact us and we'll give you an exact price up front.

Are there additional travel fees?

Travel fees vary based on your location within our service area, the time of the appointment, and the type of service requested. Our primary service area includes Madera and Fresno Counties, with extended coverage to Merced County and surrounding foothill communities. We'll quote any travel fee clearly before you book — you'll always know the total cost in advance.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule by filling out the booking form on our website, calling or texting us at (559) 915-1155, or emailing us at monicaholtnotary@gmail.com. We're available 24/7 — evenings, weekends, and holidays. Same-day appointments may be available depending on your location and the type of document. Tell us what you need and when, and we'll get back to you promptly — usually within 24 hours.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Cash, Zelle, Apple Cash, and Cash App for your convenience. We also have Square for debit cards and charge cards. Payment is due at the time of service. We'll discuss payment details when you book your appointment so there are no surprises.

Do you offer bilingual service in Spanish?
